Important Facts:
There are over 120 Friends of New Market who have already come along side our New Market children and families. Please add your name as a Friend of New Market!
Friends of New Market (FNM) is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.
There are two Title I schools in the 35761 zip code – New Market School and Walnut Grove School. Title I means that the school has high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families. Children from low-income families statistically have higher rates of social, emotional, and academic challenges.
Solid relationships with an adult helps to build and strengthen a child’s social, emotional and academic resilience. Friends of New Market programs help students improve test scores, and teachers report behavior improvements and increased self-esteem in their students.
Last year FNM was “hands and feet” to over 100 New Market School and Walnut Grove students through:
- Before School Bible Club
- After-school Tutoring
- Arise2Read Sight reading for 2nd Graders
- Backyard Bible Club
- And through an Alpha Foundation/YMCA summer program Grant.
Friends of New Market, Heart of the Valley YMCA and New Market School won a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. The grant provides funding for after-school and summer school for 100 students at New Market School. We hope to continue the success of New Market School programs with After-school Tutoring and Before School Bible Club at Walnut Grove School.
We thank you for your commitment as you are the engine to power this ministry with your time, a one-time donation or recurring/monthly gift.
